Model F-14

The Model F evolved out of conversions of Martin arch tops in the 1960’s New York shop of Matt Umanov. Those early conversions demonstrated the virtues of reducing the body volume of larger instruments, and clearly altered the course of contemporary flat top guitar design. The shallowness of the body (4 1/8” maximum) of an F guitar makes it very comfortable to play, and contributes to the guitar’s exceptional string-to-string balance, clarity, and projection.

“For a couple years now I have been looking for a guitar that combined some of the attributes of both my more traditional guitars (Martin and Collings) and my more "modern" guitars (Goodall). I have also been searching for a guitar that would fit in between an OM and Dread, both in size and sound. I have found that guitar in the Froggy F model.
