Model F-14
The Model F evolved out of conversions of Martin arch tops in the 1960’s
New York shop of Matt Umanov. Those early conversions demonstrated the virtues
of reducing the body volume of larger instruments, and clearly altered the course
of contemporary flat top guitar design. The shallowness of the body (4 1/8” maximum)
of an F guitar makes it very comfortable to play, and contributes to the guitar’s
exceptional string-to-string balance, clarity, and projection. |
